choose 2.x or 3.x branche

Hi all,

The past time I have developed quite some websites with both v2 and v3, however i'm still not comfortable what version to select.
A lot of extensions are still not available for v3 and I have no clue when they will.
Therefor I tend to select v2 for larger projects and these are dependent from the available extensions.
I hope that a v2-v3 converter will be available one day.

any advises are welcome.

So far I've used only Contao 2.11 series, which I think is, still the most robust. now Contao 3.1 is out and is its really promising. I would soon use Contao 3.1 depending on my project. At the same time there are enough bug report on GitHub for Contao 3.1 to be carefull.

Regarding extension converter you are hoping of, it all depends on the extension author. If he finds time and motivation he might upgrade it. You may always contact the author or boost their motivation with any means. But I don't believe there ever will be a v2-v3 converter a such.

Final words: I'll use Contao 2.11 for serious production, use Contao 3.1 smaller sites at the moment. But keep track of Contao 3.1 as it matures. I hope this helps
