Frage Downloads filenames with accented characters

    Hello,

My website is in Spanish and because of this I need filenames to contain accented characters. If I add any file to Downloads that contains accented characters it doesn't get displayed in the front-end, so I end up removing the accented characters. My character set in Settings is UTF-8. Accented characters currently appear ok in regular Article text right now.

    Any ideas about this situation?

    Thanks.

In the end the filename is part of an URL. So you only should use latin characters and "_-.". Else you will get trouble at different places. You never will find a companys manual with filename e.g. "http://company.es/Manual para programación.pdf". They always will be named something like "manual-coding-es.pdf".
