Confusing Contau live update account userid with license number

Newbie alert! Live update ID invalid. If you get this message then understand that the Live update ID should be a purchased license key. Contau live update does not take your live update userId and sort things out for you. When you use a license key to update, it looks like contau then knows to bind this key to whatever domain updated. So many Ids, passwords, licenses these days.

Once you log into the Live-Update environment (where you bought the live update ID) you will see an overview of all the domains at which you installed the update ID, together with their expiration date. Here you can also release the update ID for obsolete domain names. The environment even shows you the installed Contao version of each of your sites; this gives you a great overview of the sites that may require an update.

So it only requires one username/password to manage the update license for 100+ sites these days .
