Javascript disabled warning in backend

I recently upgraded 4.13 -> 5.3.45.

I now get the backend warning "It seems that you have disabled JavaScript in your browser. The Contao back end will not work properly without JavaScript.". Some of the backend functionality is now broken (ex. I have to enter internal links manually as the popup to do it no longer pops up).

I found a similar issue, but the fix does not work. Probably because it is for an older version: https://community.contao.org/de/show...517#post574651

I found the problem. There were some corrupt symlinks in contao/public that I corrected to:

contaocore -> ../../vendor/contao/core-bundle/public/
contaonewsletter -> ../../vendor/contao/newsletter-bundle/public/
