What "Not approved for TYPOlight X.X.X" means

Hi all,
Can somebody explain what "Not approved for TYPOlight 2.7.2" has to mean.
Are there some thecnical detials that have to be regarded some reqirements to be met etc.?
How an extension gets approved ?
Is there a document describing this?
My home made extension is not approved by anyone but it works for me at least .
There are several others which also work but are "Not approved for TYPOlight 2.7.2" .
Sounds at least strange for me.

Hi kberov,
simply means that the extension has not been tested/ updated for the named TL version by the developer. If an update is neccessary depends on the extension itself and on the changes that have been made to the TL core.

If you developed your extension on TL 2.7.2 and it works you can declare it as "approved" in the repository (in case you want to put it there).
