Cannot add article while having (all) rights

Hi,

I'm struggling with the following problem: I've created a user Editor and gave that user all rights: all backend modules, all pagemounts, all file types, etc. When I log in as Editor and try to change an existing article, then all edit options are greyed out. When I try to add a new article, then the usual buttons to insert the new article at a certain location, are also greyed out. Seems like a permissions issue, but, as far as I know, the user has all permissions he can get. Or can only an admin add articles?

Is there some other setting that I'm missing?

Have you also looked at the "Default Access Rights" section which is located under settings?

This setting can also be overridden with the "Access Rights" section when you edit a page, if you check "assign access rights".

These assign page permissions (owner, group, or everyone).

Thanks, I was having the same issue and this worked for me. I had set permissions on my site root to allow the group, but it didn't work until I set it in the general settings to allow the group as default.
