    Default Published vs start&stop

    Hi all,
Within modules such as events and articles, what is the processing behind published vs start/stop.
Ie some confusion can arise from when an article is published.

If published is selected then my understanding is that the event will be published from when the event is saved.
If start or stop are entered, will this override if published is selected?
Or do start & stop both rely on published being selected to show an event on the given date range.

    Many Thanks

    Default Re: Published vs start&stop

An article (and such) is displayed when current date >= start date AND current date <= stop date (if dates are used) AND published is selected.
If published isn't selected, the article will not be displayed no matter what dates you enter as start and stop dates.
