[visitors 2.3.0] Crash Page [Solved]

As the subject line says =/ . Load up the visitors module and it makes whatever page it's loaded on completely blank. Going to try the other visitors module that's available to see if the same problem persists.

Have you enabled in the "Settings" the option "Display error messages"?

version 2.9.1. error messages are enabled. also tried debug mode and nothing still. just a blank white page =/

Hmm, strange. Usually, a blank page indicates a PHP error (which additionally is logged to the corresponding error log file).

On the German board I have so far not seen yet that someone had problems with the actual version of the extension. Further, I do not know whether the author of the extension is following this forum/thread here...

tried it again and THIS time i got an error code:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function filter_var() in /var/www/html/system/modules/visitors/ModuleVisitorSearchEngine.php on line 61

I have no idea =/

Which PHP version are you using? The PHP "filter_var()" function ist only available with PHP 5.2 or higher (which by the way ist one of Contao's minimal system requirements)

you were right about the php version... stupid Centos 5 repository only had 5.1 so whenever I tried to do update to php through the yum command, it kept returning version 5.1 =/. Just installed 5.3 and it's working fine now. Thx!
