Search Engine Module redirect on other page

Hello,

I have one website and in the website I have search function on the homepage , I want that when some one enter the keyword in search field and enter OR click on search button the page has to redirect on search page with result...

What I did : I have created a module called search and assign it in layout for homepage but I enter some keyword in search field and hit the search button it is redirect on page but not with the result

did anyone have idea what I am doing wrong here with module...?
