The future of Catalog in english (please) ?

Hello,

I'm trying to read this forum to understand the future of Catalog with Contao 3 but my german is not so good. It's a very useful and important extension for me (and I think the Contao comunity too). So, could someone explain in english what is planned for the future ?

There will be a Catalog3 (which is just the working name) for Contao 2.11.x so the LTS-Version of Contao will be supported (with a complete rewrite of catalog).
Catalog will not be ready for Contao 3 this year and the development for it depends on donations (minimum 15.000 Euro).
If such an amount is not donated the catalog will be ready for contao 3 when it is :-)

currently we worked on the next generation of the catalog. The catalog version 3 is compatible with 2.11.x and is a complete rewrite. For contao 3 we need more time, more money and more developer I know the catalog is a very important extension but there are a lot of changes in contao 3 and it will take a lot of time. Before 2013 i see no possibillity to upgrade the catalog extension for contao 3. Sorry.

For the Contao 3 version, I'm sorry that I can't help you as developer (because i'm not a developer) but perhaps for french translation if necessary.

Some key aspects of the topic:

• The developers need the funding money, otherwise it will take until the end of next year (paid projects have priority)
• Crowdfunding tends to be designated to the masses and the Catalog is a tool for rather advanced users
• A minimum of 10.000€ was mentioned by andreasisaak

The rest is a discussion about pros and cons of financing options (donations versus crowdfunding, etc.) or discussing things like licenses and what kind of partner programs are thought of.

2. Why is there only one custom model mod_custommodel_list ?

3. Is there something like Catalog Reference ?
